I ran into  this older article on PopSci about a homemade rocket bike. I was intrigued so I bumped around looking for a video of the bike.

I got lucky and found it! This rocket runs on nitrous oxide and roofing tar, and is capable of a 200 pound thrust which rockets (sorry) the rider down the road.
