For decades in Japan, dekochari (deko means “decoration” and chari means “bicycle”) have been the ride of choice for hardcore dekotora fans that are too young to drive. Modeled after Japan’s celebrated art trucks, dekochari typically feature large front bumpers, ornate luggage racks, rear-mounted boxes that resemble truck trailers, colorful paint jobs, lots of chrome, and sophisticated electric light displays.
I am guessing these bikes are not meant for daily commuting. I don’t know about you, but the soundtrack makes me want to sip Scotch over ice.
Bikes come in a range of styles with mountain bikes, bmx bikes and road bikes. Manufacturers include Raleigh Bikes, Giant Bikes and Kona Bikes.

I should move to Japan! As much as I love riding my bike, I also enjoy making gaudy and unnessicary decorations for it.
