For those of you already planning next year’s holiday decor, consider the pedal-powered christmas tree featured on Wired.com!  Proudly displayed in the city of Barcelona, in the square of Mercat Santa Catarina rises this pedal powered pyramid of light.  Any person who happens to walk by the tree is invited to pedal, thus keeping the tree lit.  The display is also somewhat of a publicity stunt for Bicing, Barcelona’s point-to-point bicycle service…but don’t let that stop you from creating your own

    Brilliant – figures Europe does something like this – it will take another 10 years for the US to even catch on to something like this.

    You get get run off the road here if you’re riding a bike!
