  I typically ride with the naive belief that nothing will happen to me that involves the loss of blood. I am interested in what others may carry.

  As much as I am aware that the roads can be dangerous, the idea of carrying a first aid kit is beyond me.
  So what do I carry? Two tubes, Park stick-on patches, a big adjustable spanner, an Alien mini tool, a pump and an 8 mm open ended spanner for adjusting the hinges. I only travel 25 miles a day and I normally get a puncture once a week. The puncture rate has gone down recently, mostly due to getting inner tubes that are not so thin, however, the roads have been relatively clear of glass recently, so that could be the real reason.

  I carry one tube, a compressed air filler thing with an extra canister, a single tire stick thing for changing tires, and a tiny multitool. Oh, and an iPhone in the summer (in Winter it rides in my jacket).

  I had to buy one of the largest under-seat bags I could find just to fit an iphone and those few things into it. I’m amazed at how little most under-seat bags can carry.

  Two inner tubes, frame fitting pump, lights, set of spare rechargable batteries, set of brake blocks, spare brake cable, patch kit, set of allen keys, 2 6″ shift spanners, chain breaker, spoke key, screw driver, set of tire levers and some anti-septic wipes with a non-stick wound dressing. Oh and a full set of water proofs. (I am in England after all).

  I guess being over prepared on a bike runs in the family — thats a way lot less than my dad who carried a full set of tools strapped to the outside of his saddle bag and all sorts of spares — spokes taped the bar inside for instance. It very nearly killed him, literally — he ended in Intensive Care for two weeks with a cracked skull after he went over his handle bars and the foot long shift spanner he carried cracked him in the back of the head.

  I’ve got an Xtracycle on an old heavy steel frame, so I’m not really worried about weight. In my frame bag, I carry a spare tube, a patch kit, a Park Tool MTB-1 multi-tool, and an Adventure Medical Ultralight .9 first aid kit. That’s where the battery pack for the Down Low Glow goes, too. In one of the side pockets of the X, I carry a pocket survival pak. There’s a mini pump strapped to the frame, and I’ve usually got about a liter of water. There’s usually some extra layers/rain gear in a dry bag, too. I should probably carry a few extra spokes, but my wheels are overbuilt and haven’t even needed truing in the last 2500 miles, so I’m not too worried about it.

  I carry FA basically. Usually just a lock and the clothes on my back.

  I carry work clothes, pair of sandals for walking into the building, and to use in the shower, tube and patch kit, tiny multi tool, one water bottle, GPS and bike computer, and a lock. helmet and gloves, natch. plus my Man Purse, which has all my other junk in it for my commute. not going into details, mostly not bike-y. cell phone.

  Hello =] In my camelbak nomad I’ve got 50-100oz of electrolyte enriched water (depending on the length of the trip), a headlamp if i’ll be riding at night, a compact hand pump, spare tube, stick on patches, a signaling mirror, my keys with a whistle, cell phone, a multi tool with chain tool/allens/tire lever, another tire lever, another multi tool with knives and such, a condom, and a packet of tomato seeds (in case things get really hairy).

  There’s also an ultralight first aid kit with anti-sceptics, bandages, pain killers, and bee/poison ivy remedies. This came in great handy when I crashed and tore my knee open, made friends with a passing rider who cleaned and patched me up nicely for the couple hours before the doc could put in 12 stitches. It’s stored in a sealed bag so when you crash on the rocks in a river crossing your bandaids won’t get gross.

  Good Day

  Just wanted to share my new experience.

  If your system denies to start due to an error corresponding to lost HAL.DLL, invalid Boot.ini or any other critical system boot files you can repair this by using the XP installation CD. Simply boot from your XP Setup CD and enter the Recovery Console. Then run “attrib -H -R -S” on the C:\Boot.ini file and remove it. Launch “Bootcfg /Rebuild” and then Fixboot
