Hey, thanks for stopping by! If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to the RSS feed. You can also subscribe to BikeHacks by email. Thanks for visiting!

Not all bike hacks make you feel all warm and fuzzy. Typically the completion of a bike hack releases that primordial feeling of accomplishment and pride.

The Ghost Bike Campaign is a hack meant to bring about awareness that everyone should share the road and pay attention while driving and riding. In major cities around the U.S. people have been painting an old bike solid white and locking it at a location where a cyclist has been struck and killed by a car. I’m sure those who paint the bikes do not feel great while doing so, but they are making a necessary statement to all on the roads.

These Ghost Bikes serve as grim reminders, but hopefully they will help to save lives in the future. You can visit the ghostbike.org site for more information and pictures.
