This isn’t much of a hack now, but it certainly originated as one. The Elliptigo Glide Bike is pretty interesting. The idea was to build a bike that replicated the running movement, but without the impact, which is what elliptical trainers are known for. This bike is certainly interesting, and the video below illustrates it’s mechanical viability. I’d be interested to try one out…

    Looks like fun. I would expect that it is less efficient as a standard bicycle, mainly due to aerodynamics.
