indeed the noise would be embarrassingly bad.
best idea is to stuff gloves and bandanas inside to muffle the noise.

Are store-bought or used seat bags so expensive? I’m all for a good hack, when there’s a need. This seems kinda unnecessary and as the others wrote, requires more work than the guide shows to make it usable.

Hacks are about personal style and ingenuity so I give dude props. As for the noise, two simple solutions: first, stuff an old sock in the thing to double as a noise damper and rag (I do this with my cage rocket) and second, use a small bungee cord to stabilize the thing with the stays under your seat.
