Creative Bike Cargo Solutions

Reader George sent along a couple of great transport hacks he came up with – definite “A” for creativity. Thanks George!

I saw many types of panniers on different sites and one day while out I found a pair of Rubbermaid bike storage hooks. I attached them to my rear rack and they work great .They can be folded up and then down like a clamshell works very well. Hope you all can use this idea.

Why yes we can. Below are the pictures of this hack in action. First, arms down . . .

Next, arms up . . .

And last, arms full . . .

And as a bonus, George threw in some pictures of a trailer made from a golf bag cart and an ironing board.

Matt here are some pictures of a bike trailer made from the golfbag cart and a broken ironing board. Super easy to make and the expense was minimal. Go Green and thanks again.

    Love the rack hooks.

I’m a hopeless scrounger, and one thing I’ve noticed is that while traveling by bike you have a much better view of what people are throwing out. On the other hand, unless you have a cargo bike your cargo hauling capability is limited. Definitely keeps the scrounging under control.
