If you have not checked out Crazy Guy on a Bike, it’s a great site to fritter away some time on. The site is responsible for inspiring a camping trip I am going to take in a few weeks. Another good example of useful information is a tutorial on turning kitty litter buckets into a pannier system.
I have a friend who has these buckets and they are awesome. They are obviously water proof and they are multipurpose. For example, when you go camping you can use them to sit on and you can also fill them with ice and keep your beer cold. Full tutorial here.
