Not a lot of businesses provide bike parking. If you want to park your bike outside, most often you end up leaning it against a wall or finding the closest tree, parking meter, or pole. On a business trip to Tallahassee, Florida I visited this coffee shop and was excited to see that the owner put some thought into welcoming cyclists. It made sense because Tallahassee is a college town and lots of students ride around bikes. It would be great if more businesses provided such logical parking opportunities.

He’s blocking half the damn sidewalk… That’s not cool.

I see the glass as “half full” on this one. The portion of the sidewalk that is being blocked is not really usable for pedestrians. First, there is a slope in the sidewalk that makes is hard to walk on, and second there is already a mailbox (you can see it behind the bike) that is blocking the sidewalk as well.

So, an imperfect sidewalk has an imperfect solution =)

Twisting those hooks sideways would really help the ’sticking out into the sidewalk’ situation.
