From a higher place of learning comes this bad lock job spotted in Cambridge. Bikehacks reader Joe explains:
I saw this Bad Lock Job in Cambridge, UK. One of the greatest seats of learning in the world. Home of Stephen Hawking, Watson & Crick, 85 Nobel prize winners and this soon to be stolen bike.
According to an article recently published by the Environmental Transportation Association, bike theft in Cambridge is on the rise.
Cyclists in Cambridge are being encouraged to step up their security measures due to soaring bike thefts. Police in the region are responding to the growing problem by urging people on two-wheels to mark their bike. It is suspected that the rise is down to thieves targeting the thousands of new students who arrive in the city around this time and choose to cycle.
The owner of the bicycle in this photo may not be the owner for very long with that lock job…
