Slatev has a video claiming that LA boasts America’s Stupidest bike lane.
The stupid thing about bike lanes in New York City is that cars just use them for parking . . . and I have never once seen a car ticketed for doing so.
If you have a stupid lane in your community, chime in.

In my town, there are a few bike lanes. One street has 2 lanes in either direction, with a 3rd bike lane on the right hand side of each side of the road. The problem is that trees line the roads, making it difficult to see the cars, let alone a cyclist. Add that to the fact that most people go 40 or 45 in that 30 mph zone (including police), and it makes more sense to use other lanes.
On a different street, the bike lane (N&Sbound lanes) are on the east side of the street (street is a 1-way southbound at this point). Then, the bike lane stops at an intersection, and continues on the other side of the intersection….across the street. Does that make sense to anyone?
I usually just ride in traffic. That way, I can knock on windows when drivers almost hit me, rather than just laying there on the ground wondering how they came out of nowhere!

Ha! Call that stupid?
Warrington Cycling Campaign in the UK has been collecting stupid bike lanes for years, most beating that in terms of the danger/lack of thought by planners.
Their site is here;

This one is always a favourite;

One other thing about the bike lane featured there is that it seems to place riders right in the “door zone” of the parked cars - very poor planning indeed, and proof that bike lanes are often more dangerous than just riding with traffic.
